Middle School Head Coach Mark Keeley, QB Coach and Offensive Coordinator
The 2023 season is Coach Keeley’s 9th year with the Emmaus Football program. He has served on the staff as a varsity assistant, JV Head coach, and MS Head coach. Prior to joining the Hornets’ coaching staff, he spent two years on staff at Wilson West Lawn and three years on staff at Muhlenberg High School. In addition to coaching football, Coach Keeley is a middle school teacher in the East Penn School District. His wife, Kaitlyn, is an avid supporter of the program and enjoys watching the game with Coach Keeley’s biggest fans, his three children.
Coach Keeley is proud to have been a part of many winning traditions throughout his playing and coaching career, including several district playoff runs. As the son of one of the most veteran high school head football coaches in the state of PA, Football has always been a large part of Coach Keeley’s life. A multi-sport high school athlete, Coach Keeley was named team captain, 1st Team All-County Offensive Lineman, and 2nd Team All-County Defensive Linebacker. He had a successful collegiate career as a three-year letterman for Bloomsburg University while enrolled in the University’s honors program.
Driven by his own passion for learning and continued personal growth, Coach Keeley takes pride in guiding his athletes to improve both on and off of the field. He believes strongly in helping them build character, learn time management, and possess accountability to become leaders in their schools and community. Coach Keeley is looking forward to the season ahead and supporting the program in any way he can.
Coach Donald McHugh, OLB's Coach
Coach Don McHugh is entering his fourth season with the Emmaus Middle School Program. Prior to this, he coached at Southern Lehigh Youth Organization for 8 years and was a board member and assisted with the Middle School program. In his 8 seasons with the Spartans, Coach McHugh was the head coach of 2 undefeated teams and won 3 championships. Coach McHugh started his coaching at Alton Park Youth Association, where he was head coach for the Flags and 80lb rosters. Coach McHugh is an alumnus of Southern Lehigh High School and attended the University of Delaware Valley where he played football and wrestled for the Auggies. During his playing days at Del Val, Coach McHugh earned Defensive player of the month for M.A.C. in 1995. Coach McHugh resides in Vera Cruz with his wife Tina and 2 sons Dylan 18 (Ursinus Football) and Brody 14 (Varsity Football).

Coach Jaden Vasquez, D Line Coach and JV-Defensive Coordinator
Coach Vazquez is a class of 2020 graduate of Emmaus high school and this will be his second season coaching with the middle school program. Coach Vazquez has played 13 years of football inside of the Lehigh valley. As a hornet he was a 2-time all conference Guard and a one year starter at nose guard. In his 2018 junior campaign, He started all 13 games and helped lead Emmaus to a second EPC title and a first time appearance in the district finals. As a senior he was voted to be a captain of the team and started all 11 games. Now that his playing days are over he looks to give back to the hornets of the future and help them grow along their journey.
Coach Johnnie Williams, RB's Coach
Johnnie Williams will be returning to the Emmaus football program this year, and is going on his seventh year as a middle school football coach. He has been at Emmaus for 6 of those seven years and has served as offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, as well as defensive back, running backs and defensive line coach. Growing up, he was a multi-sport athlete at Cardinal Dougherty High School. He played football, basketball and track & field. Though he loves all sports, football has always been his passion, as he played running back, defensive back and linebacker at Cardinal Dougherty. After graduation, he went on to attend Wesley College in Dover, DE where he played running back and majored in business. Johnnie has five sons - Johnnie III, Marcel, Josiah, Isaiah, and Elijah. He is a local small business owner and
enjoys attending church, coaching local youth sports, spending time with family and friends, and watching his children play sports.
Coach Craig Waters, WR's Coach
Coach Craig Waters is entering his second season with the Emmaus Middle School Program. Prior to this, he coached from 1995 to 1999 at Berwick High School, where the Bulldogs were AAA State Champions in 1995, 1996 and 1997. In the year 2000 Coach Waters coached at Parkland High School from 2000 to 2019 serving in various roles and levels including the Assistant Offensive Line coach and Special Teams coordinator for the AAAA 2002 State Championship team and the 2007 AAAA State Runner up teams. In 2015 Waters also served as Assistant Offensive Line coach for the 2015 AAAA State runner up team. Coach Waters also served as JV Head Coach from 2003 to 2009 and coached other levels and positions throughout his years. Coach Waters left the classroom in 2019 to be an Assistant Principal in the Parkland School District. Coach Waters resides in Macungie with his wife Kelly and son Simeon 14 (Emmaus Middle School Football).
Coach Tom Hurst, ILB's Coach and JV Co-Offensive Coordinator
Coach Tom Hurst is entering his first year with the Emmaus Middle School Program. Prior to this, he coached and resided in Plano, Texas where he was the Head Coach at Frankford Middle School. Coach Hurst coached for 4 years in Texas and served the roles of Offensive Coordinator, Offensive and Defensive Line coach, Quarterbacks, and Running Backs and Linebackers. He made the move to Pennsylvania this past summer and is also a middle school teacher in the East Penn School District. His passion for coaching and developing at the middle school level has led to success on the field and he is excited to continue his career with the Emmaus football program.
